Trump states Netanyahu’s corruption trial must get ‘canceled’
Posting on his Truth Social account Wednesday night, Trump lavished praise on Netanyahu, describing him as a historic “WARRIOR” and commending his leadership during Israel’s recent confrontation with Iran.
Labeling the legal proceedings a “WITCH HUNT,” Trump stated, “For a man who has given so much, it’s unthinkable. Bibi Netanyahu’s trial should be CANCELLED, IMMEDIATELY, or a Pardon given to a Great Hero, who has done so much for the State.”
Netanyahu is currently standing trial in three corruption cases, which began in 2020. He has denied all charges and continues to serve as prime minister while the trial proceeds—permissible under Israeli law unless the Supreme Court delivers a conviction.
Trump’s remarks come just days after a ceasefire was reached between Israel and Iran, halting nearly two weeks of direct conflict. Netanyahu recently praised Trump for ordering strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, calling the decision “historic.”
